Many companies have put out smaller kits for working drummers who dont want to break their backs loading in and out every night. Unfortunately many of these kits dont have the same booming sound, and solid tone a pro would expect or want out of their kit. Taye manages to combine a small, light-weight design with a heavy duty, larger than life sound to create the Go Kits.The sizes of the drums are:
18 x 7.5-inch Bass Drum
13 x 4-inch Snare Drum
8 x 5-inch Tom
10 x 5.5-inch Tom
12 x 6-inch Floor Tom
Dont let the smaller sizes fool you! These pint sized drums pack a mighty punch. Taye utilizes a cross-lamination process to create a rigid, sturdy shell that has a warm, resonant, and full-bodied tone. The shells are composed of a combination of Birch and Basswood Shells to give you a sharp, punchy sound that still has a well-defined bottom and wide tuning range.
The bass drum comes with a SlideTrack mounting system which unlike threw bass drum mounting systems, allows you to move the tom positioning forward and backwards as well as lower and higher. This system also doesnt create any unnecessary holes in the drum, which helps preserve the life of the shell. The combination pocket hinge and suspension rings allow the drum to be more resonant and prevents any and all unnecessary surface contact with the shell. This gives the drum a truer tone, and added resonance. The spring flex spurs allows for quick and easy set ups and rock solid stability. Just like the rest of the hardware on the Go Kits, these spurs were designed to limit contact surface with the shell in order to increase resonance and tone. This gives you a big, booming kick with incredible presence. The bass drum is also equipped with Tayes articulated claw hoops, which are specially designed to isolate the claw and the hoop from one another.
